Maui Wow33

I visited a friends garden today. he's got one of them medical cards that says he can grow Da Kind. Some Kihei sun, tap water and organic soil produced this 90 day wonder. Here's a couple shots of the top kola that was about a foot long.

Mini Comic book attempt #1

I've been writing and illustrating a mini comic book.
Here's a rough of the cover, partially inked and in need of color.

The Idea Is taken from Tibetan Buddhism then adulterated and basterdized into a mid 20th century gollden era inspired cartoon comic.

The comic will be free and I'm hoping the proceeds will help fund my aerospace project.

Black Witch Moth

It's a bat, it's a plane, nope it's the ginormous moth that landed on our lanai this evening. With a 5 inch wing span it's one of the bigger moths here in Hawaii but I like the green sphinx varieties better.

Self-Inflicted

My second Self-Inflicted Tattoo.
It's the Bones ripper design from powell peralta. One more session and I think I'll have it close enough. Someone told me "With free tattoos, you get what you pay for". 2 or 3 weeks before I'll poke that spot again but plenty of canvas were that came from. As long as I can stretch the skin and push some ink in. Ouch.

Lesson 4 "pear-shaped" two legged characters.

This
  • lesson
  • teaches basic "pear shaped" characters. It has been fun drawing these ones.
I need allot of work, practice, practice, practice.

    Ducks

These Birds are fun and my speed is increasing.

Tom and jerry are the next subjects to be copied and they have already proven themselves to be dificult.
I just need to loosen up more and check my proportions.

It's how you get there art contest.

It's no news that Toyota is a great patron of the arts. With their Call For Artist entries and contest and it's fledgling Scion division pumping new life into the arts with gallery exhibitions.

Here's a contest you can enter.

    See My Entry

It would be nice to see some other American Car Manufacturers step up to the plate. Yeah Right like that will ever happen.

While Toyota's building new manufacturing plants in the United States the other 3 American Car manufacturers are looking to outsource more parts to cheap labor friendly, third world countries.

    Checking Proportions Lesson 3

    lesson 3 Check Your Work.

Compare the copies to the originals to check proportions.
If you click these images it will take you to my free image host.
Below in white is the original and black is my copy.

In this image you can see the progression. Numbers one and two are my first and second attempts and number three is from the book. Wow I'm actually getting better.

Compare the hats. The first is way off, On the second I get the shape of the brim a little better but the hat is still too big.

Now I'm going to practice these some more and try to make some bodies.
